Flooring calculator

Boxes to buy, waste factor included.

How it is worked out

area × (1 + waste) ÷ sq ft per box = boxes, rounded up

What it assumes

10% is standard for a straight lay. Go 15% for diagonal, and 20%+ for herringbone or a room full of jogs.
Buy the whole job in one order — dye lots shift between runs.

This is the same calculator that is in your Hut

Nothing on this page is a demo of the real thing — it runs the identical code. What a ToolHut account adds is everywhere the number then goes: saved against the job it belongs to, dropped straight onto a quote, and priced at a rate built from your own overhead instead of a guess.
